NEW CANADIAN ONLINE JOURNAL LAUNCHED APRIL 30, 2011.

Dear Colleagues:

As President of CFCH/FCHC, I am proud to announce the launch of our new online journal:  The Journal of Mind Body Regulation (MBR.)

MBR will provide a forum for advancing the relationship between sound science and effective practice.  As such, it will be of interest to a broad range of clinicians and researchers including psychologists, physicians, neuroscientists, behavioural scientists and all those who deal with mind-body issues.

As an online open-access journal, MBR can rapidly publish and distribute contributions using all of the media available on the internet—colour, video and audio—in ways that will capture your attention and enhance your learning. And, subscribers can comment online about MBR’s content, using its advanced technological features.

Our distinguished Editor-in-Chief is Professor Amir Raz, a world-renowned cognitive neuroscientist and clinician.  Dr. Raz holds a doctorate from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.  He has more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals including Nature, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Archives of General Psychiatry, Consciousness and Cognition, and NeuroImage.  Holding a prestigious Canada Research Chair at McGill University, Dr. Raz is Professor of Psychiatry, Neurology and Neurosurgery, and Psychology, and a Senior Researcher at the Lady Davis Institute of Medical Research at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal.  You can read more about him and his research at www.jgh.ca/razlab.)

The first volume (MBR issues 1, 2 and 3) comprises an April demo issue followed by a collection of contributions from some of the most prominent experts on the topic of placebos – issues 2 and 3 – to appear in July and October of 2011, respectively.

To register, please go to www.clinicalhypnosis.ca and click on the link to MBR. Follow the simple instructions on the MBR home page. You will then be able to search the archives, publish comments and commentaries on the website and receive instant notification of new issues.
