  • Full Member (registered)
    Registered psychologist and a member in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
  • Provisional Psychologist (non-voting)
    Is open to an individual who, at the time of application is Registered and in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists as a Provisional Psychologist; or is in the process of applying to the College of Alberta Psychologists for registration as a Provisional Psychologist and provides the Association with his/her proof of registration as a Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists within ninety days of being accepted as a member of the Association.
  • Out of Province Psychologist
    Registered psychologist and a member in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP), living outside of Alberta.
  • Student Membership (non-voting)
    Is open to an individual who upon application:
    • a) is registered as a student in an undergraduate or graduate psychological program at a recognized university, college, or other institution of post-secondary education; and
    • b) is of good character and reputation; and
    • c) pays the prescribed dues
  • Professional Affiliate Membership (non-voting)
    Is open to an individual who:
    • a) is a professional with an interest in psychology (such professionals may include, but are not limited to, social workers, school counsellors, mental health therapists, medical professionals, and clergy); and
    • b) is of good character and reputation, and
    • c) pays the prescribed dues.
  • Psychological Assistant Affiliate Membership (non-voting)
    Is open to an individual who at the time of application:
    • a) practices within the scope of practice of psychology (as defined in Schedule 22 of the Health Professions Act);
    • b) practices under the supervision of a registered psychologist;
    • c) holds a Bachelor's Degree;
    • d) is of good character and reputation;
    • e) subscribes to and supports the objectives of the Psychologists' Association of Alberta, Canadian Code of Ethics for Psychologists (Revised 2000), Standards of Practice, and Practice Guidelines for Providers for Psychological Services; and
    • f) pays the prescribed dues.
  • Referral Service Membership
    The PAA Referral Service is designed to provide the public with access to the names of registered psychologists who are participating members of the referral service. More...
