M.C., B.A. (Psych Applied Emphasis)
I recently completed my Masters of Counselling in Counselling Psychology from the Graduate Centre for Applied Psychology – Athabasca University July 2011. I have been employed full-time as an addictions counsellor with AADAC/ AHS since March 2008 at Henwood Residential Treatment Centre in Edmonton (see link: http://www.albertahealthservices.ca/facilities.asp?pid=facility&rid=1023060). I am hoping to remain in my current employment position and secure a college registered supervisor and provisional supervision arrangement in order to satisfy the requirements of the College of Alberta Psychologists (see link: http://www.cap.ab.ca/pdfs/frompages/lettertosupervisors.pdf).
Areas of interest:
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
• Neurobiology of addiction and psychotherapy (Cozolino, LeDoux, Doidge)
• Concurrent disorders
• Group psychotherapy
• Assessment
• Research
Models of Practice:
- CBT – for depression and anxiety (Paterson, Leahy)
- DBT – Managing Your Emotions (Paterson)
- Psychodynamic group psychotherapy (Yalom, Bugental)
- Motivational Interviewing (Miller & Rollnick)
Supervision Goals:
I desire a registered supervisor (male or female) with common interests to mine and vast experience with his or her models of practice. In addition to my developing more rich and deepened therapeutic relationship skills, I wish to contribute significant research in the treatment of concurrent disorders in a residential treatment setting. I am willing to participate in activities outside of my current job expectations including screening, assessment, and research (qualitative and quantitative) in facilitating mutual benefit to my supervisor. Remuneration is expected in honoring the time and expertise of my supervisor.
A complete CV is available upon request from both of my email addresses.
I look forward to the mutual opportunities which await our future collaborative endeavours. Sincerely.

Psychology Practicum Placement
I am a Masters level student in the Educational Psychology program at the University of Regina nearing completion of degree, and seeking an opportunity to complete a psychology practicum.
Practicum:
-160 to 200 hours of practical, un-paid work in the field of psychology
-Participation of a professional associate, holding at least a Master’s degree, required
-Commence May 2012 and run as long as necessary
Work experience:
-Addiction Counsellor for Calgary AHS/AADAC for 5 years
-Family-school liaison counsellor for FCSS for 1 year
Areas of experience:
-Addiction counselling
-Family Counselling
-Individual counselling
-School-based counselling and interventions
-Group counselling
-Adolescents, youth and family work
-Professional presenter and educator
Familiar Techniques:
-Brief Solutions Focused Therapy
-Motivational Interviewing
-To a limited degree CBT and Narrative therapy
Aspirations:
At the completion of the practicum, I will have concluded the final requirements of my Masters degree. As such, organizations with the possibility of employment upon graduation would be ideal, though not necessary. Upon my graduation I then plan to register as a provisional psychologist and begin working towards completing the registration process to become a registered psychologist. Thus, any opportunities to work under the supervision of a psychologist would be highly valued as well.
A more in-depth summary will be provided in my curriculum vitae upon request.
I welcome a chance to discuss any questions you may have via email, telephone or in person.
