Generous donation by Calgarian and Partnership between the PAA and the Edmonton Community Foundation (ECF) and the Calgary Foundation lead to the establishment of the PAA Psychological Services Funds and the Amina Beecroft endowment Fund

On June 27, 2005, at a press conference held in Calgary, Ms. Amina Beecroft presented the PAA President, Dr. Sally Barros, and the President of the CPA Foundation, Dr. John Arnett, with a check in the amount of $150,000.

In April of 2009 these funds were transferred from the CPA in Ottawa, to the Edmonton Community Foundation and the Calgary Foundation in order to facilitate the disbursement of funds to subsidize psychological services to Albertans who could not otherwise afford the services.

The PAA Psychological Services Funds, and the Amina Beecroft endowment fund are disbursed through the Canadian Mental Health Association, Alberta Division, to provide psychological services to needy Albertans.

Donations to the Foundations are tax deductible and the opportunity is now there for Alberta businesses, psychologists, and members of the public to make tax-deductible charitable donations.

The PAA is most grateful to Ms. Beecroft for her most generous donation and to the Edmonton Community Foundation, the Calgary Foundation and the Canadian Mental Health Association, Alberta Division for their cooperation and assistance in setting up the PAA funds.
