Membership Categories

Full Member
Registered psychologist and a member in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP)

Life Member
A Full Member who has reached the age of 65 and has been a member in good standing with the PAA for the last 15 years.

Provisional Member
Registered provisional psychologist and a member in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP)

Student Member
Registered as a student in an undergraduate or graduate psychological program at a recognized university, college, or other institution of post-secondary education.

Referral Service Member
Full members may choose to sign up for the Referral Service. The Referral Service is a program established, operated and maintained by the Psychologists' Association of Alberta (PAA). The Referral Service is designed to provide the public with access to the names of registered psychologists who are participating members of the Referral Service.

Professional Affiliate
A professional with an interest in psychology (such professionals may include, but are not limited to, social workers, school counsellors, mental health therapists, medical professionals, and clergy.

Psychological Assistant Affiliate
Psychological Assistant holds a Bachelors' Degree, practices within the scope of practice of psychology as defined in Section 22 of the Health Professions Act) and practices under the supervision of a registered psychologist.
