Qualifications:

PURPOSE AND ACCOUNTABILITY
The purpose of this position is to provide services for students with developmental, learning, behavioural and social/emotional challenges. The Psychologist acts as a change agent which collaborates with schools, families and communities to create effective, healthy learning environments for Calgary Board of Education (CBE) students with diverse experience and needs.
The incumbent is accountable for ensuring effective identification, diagnosis, consultation, intervention and evaluation as well as for meeting both the CBE and Alberta Education requirements regarding the identification, documentation and monitoring of students with exceptional needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Registered as a Psychologist in the Province of Alberta. Provisional psychologists who are registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists, have successfully completed the required 1600 hours of supervised practice, and are eligible to be chartered within four months from the date of hire, may be considered.

Neuropsychologist
Lifemark Health Centre NE is accepting applications for a part-time neuropsychologist for a maternity leave to provide assessment and consultation for adults with acquired brain injuries. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team in assisting brain injured persons' re-integration into the community, including safe, sustained, competitive employment. The position emphasizes clinical application of neuropsychological principles in our mild traumatic brain injury clinic, milieu-based day program, and supported employment services. Psychometry services are provided. In operation since 1992, the Calgary program is the first CARF-accredited brain injury program in Canada. This position offers opportunities for clinical research, university appointments, teaching, public speaking, and leadership.
Requirements include completion of an APA or CPA-accredited doctoral program in psychology, an APA or CPA approved internship, and postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology or neuropsychological training that meets ABPP/ABCN guidelines. Applicants must be registered or eligible for registration in the province of Alberta.
As a member of the interdisciplinary Brain Injury Services Team, you are effective in short term clinical intervention and can quickly establish rapport with clients challenged by brain injury, psychological issues and/or pain, and can work effectively with clients of diverse backgrounds and education levels. You have excellent verbal and written communication skill, are familiar with objective assessment tools, and have the ability to effectively adapt to changing schedules and priorities.

PEMBINA HILLS REGIONAL DIVISION NO. 7 ñ has an opening for a one-year Psychologist Internship, beginning August 20, 2010 until June 30, 2011. This position will appeal to a provisionally registered psychologist seeking to fulfill the College of Alberta Psychologist (CAP) 1,600-hour requirement for supervised practice. Candidates must meet the CAP requirements for eligibility as a provisional registered psychologist and have completed coursework in psycho-educational assessment; courses in special education and behaviour disorders as well as previous school based experience would be considered assets.
This Internship will be focused on the completion of psycho-educational assessment of student with behaviour and/or learning disabilities. However, specifics and related duties can be tailored to meet the successful candidateís interests in any age of children from 3 to 19 and could include supervision in cross battery assessment, specific neurodevelopment disorders (such as FASD, PDD), play therapy, EMDR, narrative therapy, Adlerian psychotherapy, and gifted education. An opportunity will also be provided to both present and participate in professional development in PHRD and through the Aspen Student Health Partnership.
PHRD is a rural school division located an hour northwest of Edmonton. Schools range in size from Hutterite colony schools of 20 students to a regional composite high school of 900. Grimmon House is a voluntary holistic residential treatment program for adolescent girls between 13 and 17 years old who are at-risk or involved in sexual exploitation and may be struggling with addiction. Grimmon House is committed to the recovery and empowerment of young girls to make positive choices and changes in their lives.
The Program Therapist works collaboratively within a team environment to provide treatment for adolescent girls who have been or are at risk of being sexually exploited. The Therapist is responsible for providing individual, group, and family counseling to the residents of Grimmon House and provides clinical consultation to staff and appropriate community contacts. The Therapist will ensure that the program and services provided are relevant to the needs of the residents and align with current research and best practices. This position is typically 32 hours/ week with some flexibility for negotiation.

- Coordinate and ensure requirements for the Program Funder are completed:
- Monitor service delivery.
- Ensure child information is compiled and current, and required assessments, reports, etc. are complete in conjunction with contract dates.
QUALIFICIATIONS:
- Master's Degree in Psychology, Educational Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Rehabilitation or Speech-Language Pathology.
- Registration with applicable professional body and malpractice insurance coverage.
